Huge win against a Mombasa squad that had a lot of potential getting them to 2-0 and they are now one of two teams that remain undefeated. This win puts them at top with Anas Zubi leading the way with 21. If their offense keeps cooking the way it has been lately they can go all the way. Their remaining schedule isn’t too tough either so they can be looking at a 4-0 record headed towards the playoffs.

This team might have been the quietest entering the season but are now the loudest with everyone wondering how this new squad is putting it all together. They are one of two teams that remain undefeated and had an impressive win against a dangerous Jakarta squad. They did blow a huge lead in the second half which gets you thinking but in the end they were able to hang on led by Farzad Messag’s 23&7. Next week they play a Suba squad that is coming off a huge blowout loss, they can be looking at a 3-0 start.

Ugly game for this squad, they fought back several times in the second half but Mecca’s offense was too much for them in the end. The revenge tour seems to have hit a pothole but look for them to get the motor running again and feast on a Tehran squad that hasn’t looked that great on offense lately either.

Jakarta

Comebacks were a common theme this week but Jakarta also suffered the same fate and fell short of a miraculous comeback. The Abbassi brothers combined for 57 and Billal got his second straight double double of the season but Dhaka was able to hang on and give Jakarta their first loss of the season. Next week they have an interesting matchup against a Cordoba squad who’s also looking for a win but has not been able to produce more than 5 players a game. If Jakarta runs and tires them out early this one can slip away quickly.

Great way to comeback after a tough loss last week. They grinded out a win led by Kareem Elsammak’s 17. This was the kind of win they needed to gain their confidence back headed into their toughest matchup of the season against an undefeated Mecca squad. If they don’t find a way to stop Mecca’s offense they can be looking into a 1-2 hole.

LAST WK: 3

Another close game that ended in a comeback falling up short. They battled throughout the second half and cut the lead but could not hang on in the end despite Shadi Dahduli’s big 21&9 game accompanied by 18 from Omar Singer. Next week they look to bounce back against a Riyadh squad that’s also having their problems. A win there would help them gain some momentum and confidence back.

Cordoba

LAST WK: 5

Tough loss for this squad battling back from a deep deficit but just falling short as time expired. They battled until the end overcoming a deep first half deficit. Next week they play Jakarta who is also coming off of a tough close comeback loss. Getting the job done next week is vital especially against one of the other top teams in the league. It’ll all come down to who wants it more.

LAST WK: 8

The defending champs get back on track squeezing by a narrow victory. They had a big lead and blew it which is a troubling sign for a team that’s trying to stay on pace with the elite of the league. Regardless a win is a win let’s see if they can use their size to beat up on a young Amman squad next week. Another ugly game could spell trouble for this squad heading into the playoffs.

Great bounce back win, took control of this game early and never looked back. Great game for Hosam Karkis leading the way with 21&8. This was a win they needed to gain some confidence heading into a matchup with the defending champs next week. This matchup could possibly be their biggest challenge of the season; a win there would be huge.

Nice bounce back win and a great offensive performance led by Anwar Ahmad’s BIG 21&14 game. They’re headed back in the right direction and look to make it two wins in a row against a Kashgar squad that was obliterated this week.

Sana'a

LAST WK: 14

Excellent and much needed victory this week. It’s hard to lose a game when everyone on the team is contributing and scoring as everyone on the team scored this week. They look to make it two wins in a row next week as they take on an 0-2 Cairo squad that hasn’t seemed to get it together yet.

Riyadh
Riyadh

LAST WK: 10

Narrow defeat to a Sana’a squad that was hungry for their first win of the season despite having three players scoring in double figures. Next week they play a Granada squad that’s also coming off a close loss. They need to get their offense back in check especially in late game situations or else they’ll be staring down their second straight loss of the season.

12
Suba

LAST WK: 9

The offense was there this week but the defense couldn’t make stops as they gave up 71 points this week. Shahaan Kazi led the way with 23 but their defense just wasn’t there this week. Next week they play a Dhaka squad that has been on a roll as of late and if their defense lets up again they’ll have no chance of winning.

13
Tehran
Tehran

LAST WK: 16

Good all-around game for this squad grinding through to get their first win of the season. They need to get more offense flowing though as they currently rank 15th in points per game. They play a tough Mombasa squad next week and they’re going to need to show up on offense if they want any chance of winning this game.

15
Cairo
Cairo

LAST WK: 14

Back to back losses to start off the season, not a pretty offensive performance either. They are now at the bottom of the standings as one of two teams who remain winless this season. Something has got to change and fast, this is not the type of season you want to have if you plan on making a run in the playoffs. They need to win at least one of their last two games to have some momentum heading into the playoffs or they’ll be an early first round exit.

Kashgar
Kashgar

LAST WK: 15

Not a pretty game, they went down 18-0 to start the game and never got back into it. Their schedule does not get an easier and unless this team can produce more offense and quick I don’t see them doing much in the postseason.
