The revenge tour has made its first stop with an impressive victory over Kabul. Great defensive performance by this squad. Next stop for this team is a matchup against Mecca where Mombasa looks to prove that they are still the most dominant team in this league. Should be fun to watch.

This game was over pretty early as the Zubi brothers combined for 43 points. They get their real first test next week against a Mombasa squad that is hungry for a championship. This is probably the game of the week and should be close throughout.

Granada
Granada

Close game in the first half but then they started clicking in the second and cruised to victory holding their opponent to 26 points. Great defensive performance overall by this squad, next week against a 0-1 Kabul team who is looking to bounce back from a tough loss should be a nice matchup to see.

Jakarta

Very impressive performance by this squad. They were able to overcome a second half deficit and will their way to victory led by some great shooting by Fursan and Billal. Next week’s matchup against Dhaka should be an interesting one as this team looks to improve to 2-0.

5
Cordoba
Cordoba

LAST WK: 7

Great win for this team coming out victorious in a tough battle against a young Amman squad. They were able to prove they can handle close game situations and finished off after a fierce comeback from their opponent. Samien Darden had a MONSTER game with 15&17. This team’s headed in the right direction.

When you have 4 players scoring in double digits you know you’re doing something right. Great win for this team but a tough matchup awaits them next week against Jakarta. If they can pull that win off everyone better watch out because this team is starting to look scary.

The defending champs start the season off with a loss after blowing a lead in the second half against Jakarta. Not a great shooting night from behind the arc for this squad but they should be able to get back on track next week against Cordoba. Jon Mingo lead the way for this team as he so frequently does but this team is going to need to get it clicking on defense if they want any chance of repeating as champs.

Suba
Suba

LAST WK: 9

They got the job done this week with an impressive offensive performance. Next week they look to go 2-0 against a Delhi squad that’s coming off a tough loss. It won’t be easy but if they can get their defense to step it up they can get it done.

10
Riyadh
Riyadh

LAST WK: 15

Impressive win by this squad pulling away in the second half with 3 guys scoring in double digits. They can continue their winning ways with a matchup against Sana’a next week if they continue to play the way they played this week.

Delhi

LAST WK: 6

Another close matchup from week1 but Delhi couldn’t get the job done against a young Dhaka squad. Not a bad shooting day with 3 players in double figures but in the end the younger squad was able to get the better of them. Next week’s matchup against Suba is definitely a better fit for them and look for this team to get back to their winning ways if their offense keeps it up.

Kabul

Stuck with Mombasa throughout the game but just couldn’t keep it up as Mombasa took over in the second half. Really poor FG shooting percentage from this team and they cannot continue to shoot that low or they become an afterthought in this league. Next week’s matchup against Granada is a tough one but this team has seen better days.

13
Amman
Amman

LAST WK: 11

Tough Loss for this young squad, didn’t have any subs playing this week but still managed to keep up with Cordoba offensively in a gritty game led by Omar Qasem’s 23-6-6. A more favorable matchup awaits them in week 2 where they hope to bounce back against another 0-1 squad.

14
Sana'a
Sana'a

LAST WK: 10

They managed to keep it close in the first half against Granada but couldn’t get their offense going. Next week’s matchup against Riyadh is a winnable game if this squad can get more offensive productivity, otherwise they’ll be staring at a 0-2 record.

14
Cairo
Cairo
0-1

LAST WK: 12

This team needs to improve their FG percentage after shooting just 28.8% from the field. Not a great performance from them and a nice matchup against Tehran next week can have this team seeing better times and getting back on track.

15
Kashgar
Kashgar

LAST WK: 16

Tough loss for this squad led by Ulises Campos 25&7. Next week they play against a young Amman squad that also looks to bounce back from a tough loss. Neither team showed a great defensive performance and if Kashgar wants to win this next game they are going to have to step it up a notch.

16
Tehran
Tehran

LAST WK: 14

Really tough matchup against Mecca this week. Definitely not the start that they wanted but they can bounce back next week with a nice matchup against Cairo. They need more offensive productivity out of their guys or this team won’t be going anywhere anytime soon.
