Fez v Islamabad:

If Islamabad comes with a full squad, especially the beast that is Muj, then they should take this one due to raw talent alone. I'm not going to say, with ease, because they don't look like they've developed enough chemistry as of yet, but they should still win.

Damascus v Cordoba:

If Hassan continues to be the only real threat on this team then Damascus will win, for sure. If Cordoba's surrounding cast can help out with decent productivity, then it will be a close one. One of the reasons why Hassan's team was good last year was because, aside from his obvious talents, he also had a great supporting cast in Amre and Wassay, who were lights out shooters. This game will come down to Cordoba's supporting cast. If they don't show up then Damascus will be able to weather Hassan's storm and come out with the win.

Baghdad v Kabul:

Baghdad just came off a rough loss to the league favorites Mecca, but I think Ahmad R and co will be able to bounce back with a big win against Kabul who have yet to make an identity for themselves this season.

Mecca v Medina:

This is either going to be an interesting game or a complete blow out by Mecca. It could be an interesting game because of Alex T alone with his slashing drives to the basket. But if Mecca can handle him, which they should be able to, then they will come out with an easy win. Turan and co are no match for Far far and Big O, IMO. Don't worry, I'm not forgetting Alaat. He is a good presence down low, but is far from the dominant big man many thought he would be. League new comer Steven, should be able to hold Alex T in check. Amre will make his 3's but it won't be enough for Medina. Ahmed will get his as usual.

Jerusalem v Bukhara:

Most people would probably label this game as a blow out for the disgustingly stacked and out of this world roster of Bukhara, but I actually think it will be a competitive game. Aquil has proven to be a consistent scorer, and his surrounding cast is not bad at all. They've also been together for a couple seasons now so the chemistry is definitely there and they have that advantage over Bukhara. However, I could be completely wrong, and the soft spoken Chris Diaz could easily go for his usual 205 points. Let's not forget they also have this little guy called Khiry who can go off any time he decides to, Hanif, Mustafa Abbassi, Ammar, Rajab....Ya Allah... you get the point.

Cairo v Istanbul:

Istanbul has shown that they are in fact human in the last game against the overly stacked Bukhara. However, they will unleash all of their channeled up anger on Cairo and destroy them in a blow out game. Expect Ayman to miss and rebound his own shot about 10 times in a row to pad his stats (also due to pure lack of skill), and for Baba Sheikh Waleed Gabr to yell at his 'sons' during the game for not saying Bismillah before each shot and giving thanks after. On a more serious note, Istanbul's youngans who can all dunk in their sleep will be way too much to handle for Cairo.

Ed, you copid my picks.

Week 3 lines

Fez at Islamabad (-8.5)
Although the Fez/Cordoba game will be replayed, Fez still proved to be a turnover prone team. Islamabad still having the week 1 loss to avenge, will be too much for Fez to overcome. Islamabad should be able to capitalize on turnovers and turn them into easy buckets. Fez must take care of the ball to have a shot at this game. Give me Islamabad and the points.

Damascus (-6) at Cordoba
This is a tricky game as both teams will be short handed. Cordoba is pretty solid defensively but aside from Waseem, they lack a consistent offensive threat if Hassan cant make it. Damascus has put up some big numbers offensively in 2 consecutive weeks, and its hard to see tht changing. I'll take Damascus to win, and to cover.

Baghdad (-8.5) at Kabul
The league didnt get a chance to see if Kabul could redeem itself last week, so its difficult to guage this team. Baghdad beat up on Cairo, only to have the same done to them by Mecca. Ahmad R is a legitimate star, but the Baghdad big need to goto Zone offense 101 and learn how to play. Still, Baghdad has 2 legitimate deep threats and are by no means an easy out. Baghdad to come back strong after an embarassing loss - as they start to get into the harder part of the schedule.

Medina at Mecca (-11)
Alex Tsay has been the man for this team thus far, but Medina hasnt faced a D yet with an interior defensive presence. Look for most of their points to come from the outside, making Amre the major threat. Alat had a bad showing in week 2, he needs to step up for Medina to have a shot. Mecca has been rolling offensively, and has yet to put a full squad on the floor. I see Mecca getting out to an early lead putting the pressure on Medina to execute every trip down the floor.

Jerusalem (+10) at Bukhara
Bukhara comes off of an emotional hard fought victory against Istanbul, to a fresh Jersualem team with that bitter loss in week 1 still at the tip of their brains. When Chris Diaz gets going he is second to none in terms of offensive killer instinct, but the offense gets stagnant as 4 guys watch to see him shoot. Jerusalms 3 guards should be able to stick with Diaz, at least giving him tough looks at the hoop. Mus will play a mjor role in this game. Bukhara will win, but Jerusalem will cover.

Cairo at Istanbul (-15)
Cairo is a young team still finding itself. Their only chance to keeping it close is to run everything through the post wiht big Ali Omar. No double, make a move. Double down, kick it to the open shooter. Shooters need to come up big to keep this game in single digits. I dont see it happening. Look for Istanbul to rebound from a tough loss against arguably the best team in the league, with a blow-out victory and against arguably the worst team in the league.

Adham, your analysis is so much more fun to read then mine.
When Waleed screamed at Aymen we were saying he shouldve been sitting in the stands with the screaming mom, lol

Islamabad over Fez
Islamabad's big rebounder, Ali Afshar, is gone for the season. An undersized Islamabad will struggle to get rebounds vs the rest of the league .. Fez loses Jason Rogers, one of their better scorers .. If these two teams come out Friday with their regular rosters (no guest players), Islamabad should win with their more talented/skilled/GQ-looking team.

Damascus over Cordoba
Damascus is full of guards and shooters .. adham and asif have been holding it down .. once haas is back watch damascus get stronger .. and if hafiz ever catches fire, its over for the league .. Cordoba will have to hold it down with superstar Ahmad Hassan .. Anwar should be able to light it up this game .. Damascus should take this one

Baghdad over Kabul
Ahmad R is one of the top players in this league so far .. no defender has really been a challenge for him .. Kabul has some solids guards but need to build their overall game .. Jibran/Ahmad scored buckets on Mecca last week, but their was no really offensive threat .. Baghdad wins

Mecca over Medina
Mecca will be fine .. All they need to do is contain Alex a little bit .. Amre will try to light up his old team .. but Mecca will still prevail .. Omar will contain Alat .. and OMG !!! WHO WITNESSED OLAN LAST WEEK .. he killed it and didnt even need to score .. the fake behind the back pass that literally turned Baghdad's defender 180 degrees, finishing with a layup is definitely worth of play of the year so far!

Bukhara over Jerusalem
Bukhara is just warming up .. they have their 'go to guy' in Chris Diaz .. and they have numerous back ups who are all able to score 20+ a game .. Hanif needs to put up 30 or else he's being dropped from the team lol .. khiry needs to get back to these days (http://muslimbasketball.org/profile.asp?id=241&season=5) and bukhara will be untouchable .. jerusalem has been quite on the forums but they are loud on the court .. their trio of guards and two big men can beat any team in this league on a good day

Istanbul over Cairo
Istanbul had a tough loss but will recover with a solid win over Cairo .. cairo needs to get back to 24HrFitness and learn some plays .. Ali Omar can work the post, but needs to kick it out when the opponents collapse on him .. Karim Maas can heat up at any time .. but Istanbul will run them off the court .. but first JABER and RAIED's guardians need to sign their WAIVER FORMS !!! lol snappp

you're right ed we have been quiet on the forum - that's about to change starting now...

It should be a good match up tonight - but just like Amare said last night before the Knicks big win over the Heat -

"We're not afraid of Bukhara"

Watch out for our new big man Ehab, who should be a big help to me down low.
